A mindfulness practice you can move through
Developed by Dr. Jamie Marich, Dancing Mindfulness is a community-based expressive arts and mindfulness practice that uses movement and dance as a doorway into present-moment awareness. It is not about choreography, getting the steps right, or performing for anyone.
The invitation is to notice, move, listen, and explore in a way that feels authentic to you. No previous experience with dance, yoga, meditation, or spiritual practice is required.
Flexible, choice-based movement
- Music and simple movement invitations
- Breath and body awareness
- Mindful attention to sensation and movement
- Expressive movement without choreography
- Space to adapt, pause, or participate in your own way
Breath, sound, body, mind, spirit, story, and integration
A class can draw on these elements individually and then bring them together through movement and mindful awareness.
Available live online or in person
Classes can be adapted for groups and settings, with a welcoming approach to mindful movement and no dance experience required.
Dancing Mindfulness is presented here as a community mindfulness and expressive-movement practice, not as psychotherapy or clinical treatment.
